It's snowing!

There's a new game to play in our house.  You are required to grab a huge stack of napkins out of the package & rip them up.  Next, find someone to slowly drop them while exclaiming, "It's snowing! It's snowing!".  The smiles & laugher that result are how you know you've won.

We survived! 

The last of 4 airplane rides - almost to Fargo!

Colin & I arrived home yesterday from our trip to visit Elizabeth, Eric & Soren.  Our early morning flight was canceled & we barely made it home before John went to class...but at least we weren't stranded in Salt Lake City!  Nothing like a good October storm to remind us where we live. :)

It was so fun to see the adorable Soren & witness all of the milestones that he is already achieving.  I'm quite certain my back & arms also appreciated the 10+ pound differential between him & Colin. 

We played outside & bummed around on Monday while Elizabeth took advantage of her savvy photo skills.

Happy camper

On Tuesday we visited the Museum of the Rockies.  Colin cruised around, in awe of the huge dinosaur fossils, while Soren lounged & napped in his stroller (rough life!).  Afterwards, we met up with Eric & a couple of the Gilje's friends (who also have a one-year-old) at The Garage for supper.

Soren's 2 monthday!

We had such a fun time & as usual, it went too fast.  We look forward to seeing how much Soren has changed when they come to visit Minnesota in March.  Thanks, E & E, for a fun vacation!   

Little Pumpkin

Our little pumpkin with his pumpkins.

Colin's a lucky boy & will have 2 jack-o-lanterns this year. Grandma Holt sent a pumpkin for him in addition to the one we got at the pumpkin patch.  It's been a while since I've carved one...hopefully they don't turn out too mangled!

Sidenote: You all will have to do without seeing that chubby face for a week or so.  We're off to Grafton for a quick trip on Friday.  Then Colin & I trek to Bozeman to meet little Soren.  I'm sure there will be no shortage of photos when we get back.       

Nice little Saturday

The Holt family had exactly that...a nice little Saturday.  Both Momma & Papa got in workouts & there was lots of playing in between meals & naps. But most importantly, we visited the pumpkin patch & Colin got his first pumpkin.

Meet Coleen

Coleen, Colin's alter ego, visited our house last night.  She looks like her momma here, don't you think?

Obviously she wasn't too happy about having her photo taken.

Ok - joking aside, this is what Colin was dressed in when I picked him up from daycare yesterday.  Apparently he ran out of extra shirts & we weren't aware.  So he was dressed in the only top they had that fit him.  Hilarious.

Fall Fun

The calendar shows October but it sure has been feeling more like June!  We've enjoyed a weekend to play as a family, relax & recoup.



We even ate supper on the patio Friday night.  There's nothing better!

Colin was sent home from daycare Thursday afternoon with a high temp.  It finally broke Saturday morning & he seems to be feeling much better today.  Hopefully those molars will pop through this week.  

It was Concordia's Homecoming last weekend & we hit up the football game on Saturday afternoon.  They recently installed new field turf & Colin (& dad!) enjoyed testing it out after the game.

Maybe someday he'll be running on it to score a touchdown instead of just to catch his dad.

Newest Razorback fan

Colin was channeling uncle Luke last week & sported Razorback pride. Maybe it will help them recover from the big loss to Alabama. 

It's my party

Believe it or not, I have [not-so-very] slightly over-done myself on the amount of photos taken at the one-year-old's party last Saturday. It was such a great day celebrating with our families & friends. & they all spoiled Colin rotten. We now need to replace the ottoman toy box I just purchased in order to store all of the newly acquired toys...they're taking over the living room.
