Easter weekend fun

The weather over Easter weekend was finally feeling somewhat like it should at the end of April & we took full advantage at grandma & grandpa's house.  We played outside in the yard & even got to go down the big slide at grandma great's house.

After supper we walked across the road & said hi to the horses.  This little boy was trying to give the horses his best "neigh".  I think they were more in tune to his screams & squeals though.

We had a great Easter meal with grandma & grandpa, the great grandma's & grandpa, uncle Luke & Alexa, & a couple great aunts & uncles.  After a nap we headed home & had a chance to play with grandma Rau.

After a weekend like this it was hard to go back to work on Monday.  We were reminded of God's blessings around us & are grateful.

Our second day started out the same as the first...having cereal, fruit and milk on the floor of the hotel room.

We decided that the party at Southfork that night would be enough entertainment so we just found a park to play at for a while in the morning.

Grandpa watched the monitor/Colin in the afternoon so we could relax at Chrissy & Shawn's new house.  A few of us even came home with a sunburn.

The best part of the weekend was celebrating with Chrissy & Shawn & the Holt family at the "Dallas" ranch.  While neither of us have ever seen an episode of the show, it was still cool to see the house.  The grounds were beautiful!

Day 1/2: Travel, travel, travel.

Traveling is exhausting!

We stopped by the fine establishment of Whataburger when we got to Garland on Thursday.  I should research more into it...is it a Texas thing?  Southern thing?  Whatever it is, they don't rate too high on their food or customer service. 

Day 1: Dallas Aquarium

I was probably the only one interested in the flamingos.
They were pretty - but kind of boring.

 After the aquarium, we all (Grandpa, Aunt Jen, & cousins Helena & Luke) grabbed lunch on a patio and enjoyed the sunshine in between 30 mile an hour wind gusts.

Alexa and I shopped that afternoon while the boys napped and swam in the pool.  We ate supper on our own so that Colin could go to bed at a decent hour, while the rest of the family had (from what we hear) an amazing, multiple course dinner with bottomless wine.
