That's pretty strange to write: 21 months. 3 months away from 24 months - 2 years.
I'm finding myself speechless when thinking about how to describe the little man in his ever-growing-toddler-self. He continues to amaze us each day - whether it's a new word he's learned or while showing us his stubbornness in the midst of a tantrum. Tonight, it dawned on me though, how good of a boy we have & really how lucky we are. Here are a few things that are all "Colin" at 2 years minus 3 months.
Everything is "uh oh" and followed by an explanation or a display of what's wrong. As in "uh oh, momma" while showing me a broken shovel. Sometimes it's replaced with "oh no". : )
He really aims to please and is satisfied when he knows he did something that made us happy. Tonight, he was so good for me at the park - no fit when we had to leave & sat in the stroller willingly. After we'd reached the street on the way home, I stopped the stroller, looked at him & thanked him for being a good listener & not crying when I said it was time to leave. He looked at me with a big smile, shook his head yes, & then said "figh" (five) & stuck his hand out to give me five.
His vocabulary is starting to explode - with (what seems like) a new word every day. We're hearing many two+ syllable words, too.
Reading is still a favorite activity. There are a couple books that he even "reads" with us. Good Night, Gorilla, Dr. Seuss's ABC, Just Like You, Good Night Moon are just a few of the ones he knows so well that he says the words he knows (often the last one in the sentence).
A new word heard in the car ride home from daycare each day is "mine". When we turn onto our street it's always "Mine. Momma, mine." I think the kid knows where he lives.
Colin has grown so much in the last month, even, & it's so fun to experience it. Here are a few photos taken last weekend infront of the blooming peonies. He looks like such a boy.
